A new glass (of the correct diameter)

A caliper (to measure your old glass)
-
A press, watch glass bracket (to install the new glass) or crab clamp with claw for watch glasses.

1 Watch case opener with jaws or a knife and or a screwdriver (to remove the back) our tools
- To avoid scratches, it is recommended to use transparent food-grade plastic paper (triple-folded) or transparent plastic sheet.
-
A blower or anti-static brush (for cleaning)
-
A well-lit table, patience and… good coffee ☕ (optional but recommended)
📖 Step 1: Identify the type of glass
Mineral glass? Plexiglass? Sapphire? Our lenses
➡️ Plexiglass scratches easily but can be polished.
➡️ The mineral is harder.
➡️ Sapphire is almost scratchproof… but more expensive!
💡 Tip: You can look up the watch's reference number or measure the old glass precisely. (Forum, Reference number at your watch brand)
🔧 Step 2: Disassembly
Remove the bezel with a blade.
Gently turn the watch over and open the back with the case opener tool, don't forget the protectors,
Remove the crown if your watch is automatic
🔁 Remove the movement. Be careful not to damage anything!
Check the seals and other parts carefully.
🧽 Step 3: Remove the old glass
For flat, domed mineral, sapphire glasses:
Use the glass press (or push gently from the inside if it is a clipped glass).
Or a crab claw clamp for watch glasses. (ideal on curved acrylic glasses)
➡️ Clean the glass housing well.
Measure the location if necessary and add 0.1 mm to your measurement ( Selecting the correct glass diameter, if your glass is broken)
🪞 Step 4: Install the new glass
Place the new glass, centering it well.
Use the press with the correct tip (slightly larger than the glass).
Press gently and evenly until you hear a small "click" (or feel it firmly in place).
✨ Step 5: Cleaning & reassembly
Blow or clean any dust in the case.
Replace the movement, the crown, the bezel and close the back... and admire your work!
🏁 Well done! You just brought your watch back to life! 👏
